Listen up friends:

Starting next Friday/Saturday, I will be starting a series of blogs that incorporate my life and some half truths I have made up
.   I will not use the names of people involved so I can protect their privacy to the fullest of my ability.  This should be great fun for you, however, it will be even better for me.   I hope you all (the two of you) enjoy this little adventure I'm about to take us on.

Much Love.

Patrick.

Getting Things Off My Chest.
10:47am 23/07/2009

patrickshort

So, recently my life has been stricken with kind of humorous drama.

Let me begin this story by telling you another story.

There was this girl (very beautiful).  She was a very good friend of mine.  However, as time went by, my feelings for her began to change from friendship feelings to something more.  I put out just about every sign out there that I felt that way, but she claims to not have a clue.  I have my doubts about this.  I honestly thought that I made it obvious, guess not.  I proceeded to tell her of these feelings. She didn't want to ruin the friendship that we already had.  I take risks, its what I do.  So I was willing to possibly sacrifice the friendship to have something more with her.

After this happened, I found it really odd and awkward. All of this my fault. Oops.  Two weeks ago was her birthday, and we hung out for a little bit.  During this time is when I realized that she had feelings for another person.  After I found this out, I quickly made an excuse to leave, and I did.  It's hard to sit and watch someone you have feelings for act a certain way toward someone else.  Of all people, I thought she would understand this the most.

This past weekend comes along and she decided to have a party, and as everyone knows, I am all about partying.  Well, sometimes.  I had promised this chick, among others, that I would be there.   So, Saturday night rolls around, and it's party time.  I take a deep look inside myself and realize that I didn't want to go to the party.  So, I didn't.  For not showing up, I was requested to not talk to her or her sister again.

Now, I will end this bloggerific awesomeness with this thought.   If said ladies from above are that upset about me not showing up, I guess that they aren't really friend material and just simply immature little girls.

That has been my peace.  May you have yours.

List of Actors for Marvel Characters
11:21pm 22/04/2009

patrickshort

Ok.  By now, you all know of my obsession with Marvel Comics, their characters, and their movies.  With all the movies out now (The Incredible Hulk, Iron Man, Daredevil, Fantastic Four movies, Blade Trilogy, Spider-Man Trilogy, X-Men Trilogy, Elektra, Ghost Rider, Hellboy, and the Punisher movies) and movies to come (Thor, Captain America, Iron Man 2, Nick Fury, Luke Cage, Dr. Strange, and Ant-Man), I have decided to give you all a list of Marvel characters and the actor or actress I would like to see play him/her. This will include actors and actresses that have already played the part along with people already signed on for their particular part that I could not find anyone else to portray the character.

Recent news I have received has said that Jon Favreau, director of the Iron Man series, would like to ressurect the Fantastic Four and Daredevil franchises.  Of course, this would mean that 20th Century Fox would either have to sell back or simply give the rights of the characters back to Marvel Studios (which I would love nothing more).

With that said, here is my list:

Already Cast
Nick Fury - Samuel L. Jackson
Iron Man - Robert Downey Jr.
Black Widow - Scarlett Johansson
James Rhodes/War Machine - Don Cheadle
Bruce Banner - Edward Norton
Emil Blonsky - Tim Roth
Betty Ross - Liv Tyler
"Thunderbolt" Ross - William Hurt
Samuel Sterns/The Leader - Tim Blake Nelson
Johnny Blaze/Ghost Rider - Nicolas Cage
Roxanne Simpson - Eva Mendes
Daredevil - Ben Affleck
The Kingpin - Michael Clarke Duncan
Bullseye - Colin Farrell
Hellboy - Ron Pearlman
Blade - Wesley Snipes
Punisher - Ray Stevenson
Spider-Man - Tobey Macguire
Hobgoblin - James Franco
Green Goblin - Willem Dafoe
Doctor Octopus - Alfred Molina
Sandman - Thomas Haden Church
Wolverine - Hugh Jackman
Professor X - Patrick Stewart
Magneto - Ian McKellen
Nightcrawler - Alan Cumming
Storm - Halle Berry
Beast - Kelsey Grammer
Angel - Ben Foster
Mystique - Rebecca Romijn
Cyclops - James Marsden
Jean Grey/Phoenix - Famke Janssen
Rogue - Anna Paquin
Iceman - Shawn Ashmore
Pyro - Aaron Stanford
Sabretooth - Liev Schreiber
Toad - Ray Park
Lady Deathstrike - Kelly Hu
Deadpool - Ryan Reynolds
Reed Richards/Mr. Fantastic - Ioan Gruffudd
Sue Storm/Invisible Woman - Jessica Alba
Johnny Strom/Human Torch - Chris Evans
Ben Grimm/The Thing - Michael Chiklis
Victor von Doom - Julian McMahon
Thor - Chris Hemsworth
Loki - Tom Hiddleston
Bethany Cabe - Kate Mara
Odin - Brian Blessed

My Choices
Dr. Strange - Jim Caviezel
Black Panther - Djimon Hounsou
Moon Knight - Vin Diesel
Jennifer Walters/She-Hulk - Rachel Bilson
The Vision - Doug Jones
Emma Frost - Yvonne Strahovski
Elektra - Rosario Dawson
Ant-Man - Greg Kinnear
Wasp - Lucy Liu
Falcon - Jamie Foxx
Hawkeye/Ronin - Channing Tatum
Spider-Woman - Jessica Biel
Iron Fist - Garrett Hedlund
Sif - Mary Elizabeth Winstead
Captain America - Matt Damon
Red Skull - Jeremy Irons
Sub-Mariner - Jonathan Rhys Meyers
Luke Cage - Tyrese Gibson
Quicksilver - Eric Balfour
Scarlet Witch -
The Enchantress - Blake Lively

Again, these are just some ideas.  Some that have already played their character and some, I believe would do better.  If the character is not mentioned again, then I believe the person playing him/her is right for that role.

Marvel Studios and Such.
02:22am 23/03/2009

patrickshort

OK.  I am not sure on how to start this note, but I guess I will give it a shot.

I am proclaiming my nerdiness to the world.  I love Marvel.  For those who don't know, Marvel is a comic book company that has brought to you many superheroes, villians, and just plain awesomeness.  These characters range from X-Men, The Fantastic Four, Spiderman, Punisher, Iron Man, The Incredible Hulk, Daredevil, Thor, Captain America, Ghost Rider, Green Goblin, Venom, Blade, Luke Cage, Nick Fury, and Dr. Strange...among many, many others.

So, Marvel now has a production company (for Movies) called Marvel Studios.  They have already released Iron Man and The Incredible Hulk (not the horrific Ang Lee Hulk from several years back).  In the coming years, they will release Iron Man 2, Thor, Ant-Man, and The First Avenger: Captain America; all of those leading up to the The Avengers in 2012.

Most of us know that Robert Downey Jr. played the lead role in Iron Man. However, Terrance Howard's role as James "Rhodey" Rhodes has come to an end due to money issues; replacing Howard as Rhodes will be Don Cheadle (in my opinion an awesome addition).  Gwyneth Paltrow and Samuel L. Jackson (recently signed a 9 movie deal with Marvel Studios) will both be returning as Pepper Potts and S.H.I.E.L.D. leader Nick Fury respectively.  RDJ, Cheadle, Paltrow, and Jackson will all be joined by Tim Robbins (Howard Stark), Mickey Rourke (Whiplash), Sam Rockwell (Justin Hammer), and Scarlett Johansson (Black Widow).  Now this is one hell of a cast.  I just hope Marvel and/or Jon Favreau (Director) don't screw anything up.  But I have some faith.

With that said,  I am going to focus my attention on Thor, now probably the Avenger (besides Ant-Man) people know the least about.  Basically, Thor is the Norse god of thunder and he weilds an awesome hammer.  I will not go into details about the story line; I will let you all do that yourselves.  So, the movie is probably going to be the hardest one to tye into the Avengers, and just might be my least favorite of the Marvel Studio movies (this doesn't include the two Punisher movies, The Spiderman Trilogy, X-Men Trilogy, Daredevil, Elektra, Ghost Rider, The Blade Trilogy, and the two Fantastic Four movies).  As of now, Kenneth Branagh has signed to helm the film while rumors have Alexander Skarsgard as Thor and Josh Hartnett to play the villain Loki.  Brian Blessed as confirmed that he will be playing the part od Odon, Thor's father.  Also, Natalie Portman has been rumored to play the lead lady in the film whether it be Sif or Jane Foster.  I know I am probably getting ahead of some you folks on this, and for this, I am sorry.

Now to what could be the breaking point for all things Avengers: Captain America.  Supposedly he was in an alternate opening on The Incredible Hulk Blu-Ray.  I have seen this, and honestly, you can't really tell its him.  But the director, Louis Leterrier, says it his so i have to believe him.  Anyway, this movie is a little tricky; it is set during World War II.  Steve Rogers wants to be a soldier for the United States.  They don't let him in, they give him the Super Soldier Serum, and boom he bulks up and now has super human strength and speed.  Ok so there is the story.  With that said, no one has been linked to this movie as far as acting goes.  So, my picks for The First Avenger are: Josh Duhamel, Matt Damon, Mark Valley, Jensen Ackles, and if he hadn't been Two- Face in The Dark Knight I would say Aaron Eckhardt (I have a certain rule about Actors and Superheroes/Villains  but thats another day). However, I can totally see Marvel throwing us all for a curveball by announcing Will Smith or Duane Johnson were to portray Captain America.  Overall I think that this movie has potential.  It just needs a decently known person to play Captain America.

I will update you as soon as possible when I find out more info.  And also, I will be writing another post explaining my rule mention in the previous paragraph.

All in all, I can definitely say I am totally looking forward to the next few years in movies (yes, that includes more than just these Marvel ones).   I just beg and grovel with Marvel Studios not to do anything to mess any of this up.  Please. Please. Please.

Sincerely,
Patrick Short.

What is Love? (Baby Don't Hurt Me)
01:58pm 08/04/2008

patrickshort
Recently, I have thought about nothing but the word "love."  What does it mean?  How does it feel? These are questions I tend to ask myself everytime the subject comes to my head.  And it happened today as I began to read a friend's blog posted off MySpace.

There are many types of love in this world.  The love you have for family, the love for a pet, the love for an activity.  None of these hail in comparison between the love two individuals that aren't related share for one another.

It is a shame that the words "I love you" are just thrown around like every other word in the English language.  Those three words are something sacred and should be only said if someone means it.  Everyday I hear from some friends or overhearing people talking,  "Love ya!"  in some high pitch voice that makes them sound like a 12 year old that doesn't know what they are talking about, and I begin to believe that is the case.

I almost starting to believe there is no such thing as love anymore.  Too many relationships and marriages are ending in what i believe to be a tragedy: divorce.  It seems like the hip thing to do now a days.  Let's get married then divorced.

Cheating on people is also something I frown poorly upon and have no respect for ones that do indeed cheat.  How easy is it for you to end the relationship before something goes on?  Pretty damn easy. Believe me.  Nothing in this world would ever drive me to cheat on my girlfriend or wife.  I just believe from a personal standpoint that doing such is one of the biggest signs of disrespect.  And that is something I can never ever do.  I mean is cheating really worth it?

I am not saying all this to get on the good side with you ladies.  I am saying this because it needs to be said.  I was once told that all men are alike. Every single one an asshole.  Me an asshole?  Really?  NO. Never.  It's true. Every relationship I have had I have acted the same caring, compassionate, and truthful.  I never plan on hurting some one, but shit happens.  And unfortunately it happens way more often than not.

I read the other day that a girl I know back home is now afraid to get married, simply because she is afraid of divorce and the marriage not working out.  I know I haven't had any experience in this field, but I'm sure the union of two individuals takes trust and cooperation two things that many men and women lack these days.  All I know is that I don't want someone my age fearing holy unions.  It is sad and is something the world needs to fix.

All I am saying is that us men and you all women some how need to find a way to make things work out and stick it out and try their hardest to stay together.  Because I am honestly sick of seeing relationships and marriages end in travesty.

Peace and Love.  And when I use it this way I simply mean compassion toward others.  Thanks.

Air Force Museum
10:55pm 21/03/2008

patrickshort

Wednesday I went to the National Air Force Museum in Dayton, Ohio.  I toured the museum for close to five hours.  When my dad first told me he wanted to go, I reluctantly said yes having no interest in the matter.  However, since he did tell me that no one else wanted to go with him, I decided that it would be best for me to go.  I got there having no expectations and didn't really care what I might see.  However, as soon as I walked into the first hangar with several planes that were used early in the exploration of flight, my mind changed, and all of a sudden I wanted to tour this place as long as possible.  Everything, and I mean everything, was interesting and I actually wanted to learn about some of this stuff.  We made our way through the early stages of flight development and into the World War I and II galleries.  After we left the World War II gallery we signed up to go on a tour of the Presidential gallery, in which you must register to go and show a valid government ID.  Right after that we visited the Modern Flight gallery.  It was then our turn to tour the Presidential gallery That was pretty cool.  I got to see Air Force One for Kennedy and Truman along with several one of a kind planes.  We could not take pictures on our way over there being that it is still active and many a secret stuff goes down in there, however, we could take pictures once inside, and I thought that was pretty interesting.  After the Presidential tour, my father and I went to an IMAX film about a fighter pilot and his Red Flag experience in Nevada.  Red Flag is a school type training in Nevada where Air Force pilots from across the world come to train and work together as a unit.  After the movie we then went to the Cold War gallery and the missle and space silo.  The trip was pretty interesting  and I had more fun than expected.  I should be out of service until Saturday night, where I will inform you why these past two days and the next two days are the greatest days of sports in the entire year.

Peace and Love!

St. PATRICK's Day
10:37pm 17/03/2008

patrickshort
Is quite possibly the best holiday ever.  Unfortunately, I will not take time out of my day and yours to explain the meanings of this holiday and why I enjoy it so.  Instead, I will focus this blog the string of horrible movies that have been released this year, and movies that I look forward to seeing.

O.K.  Let me start this rant by beginning with what might be one of the worst movies I have ever seen, Cloverfield.  I have read many reviews that said this was the best monster movie ever made.  Negative.  The Blob from 1958 was a better monster movie than this piece of garbage.  Cloverfield was filled with horrible acting by no named actors, decent special effects, a paper thin plot, and unrealistic decisions made by what seems to be semi-smart people.  Many people also said that this was an "edge of the seat thriller."   If by edge of the seat they mean leaned back, relaxed comfortably, not caring or being surprised by what happened next.  When the movie was over, I could feel the depression in the audience from losing eight dollars to see this flick.  I even heard one angry movie-goer say, "That was it?"  Yeah that was.  And that is the exact reason why none of you should ever see this movie.  This movie has worse camera work than The Blair Witch Project and has the intensity of The AristoCats.  And that is not a joke.   DO NOT SEE THIS MOVIE.  End of story.

I will end this with a list of movies I plan on seeing throughout the year.  Doomsday, Drillbit Taylor, 21, Leatherheads, Street Kings, Forgetting Sarah Marshall, 88 Minutes, Pathology, Iron Man, Speed Racer, Kung Fu Panda, The Happening, The Love Guru, The Incredible Hulk, Don't Mess With the Zohan, WALL-E, Wanted, Hancock, Step Brothers, The Dark Knight, Choke, The Pineapple Express, The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emporer, and Tropic Thunder.

It has been a pleasure.  Peace and Love and HAPPY ST. PATRICK'S DAY.

Spring Break Started With a Bang...
10:46pm 15/03/2008

...Well Kinda.  My journey from Knoxville to Columbus, Ohio was very long and boring on a Greyhound bus.  The seven and a half hour ride ended up being more along the lines of nine hours.   Let's just say there are very, and I mean very, strange people on the bus.  There was a woman on there who was escaping an abusive relationship.  She kept trying to talk to me, however, I didn't want to know her life story so I just sat there with my ear buds in listening to music.  After we stopped in Lexington, Kentucky, a very large group of people entered the bus.   Two twenty somethings and a sixteen year-old girl sat in the seats behind me and in front of me respectively.  They began talking, and let's say they began talking about things I didn't care for.  Such as how the girl's father was in rehab, and how one of the men behind me was in prison for three years and how the man sitting beside him had interviewed people in that prison.  The man that was in prison had just been released the night before, and I'm not sure what he was locked up for.  When I finally got to Columbus, I was very tired.  I was picked up by my dad at the Greyhound station.  We went home and I tried to sleep, however, I was unsuccesful.

Saturday was absolutely wonderful.  I woke up and showered, then immediately went to the firing range with my dad and his employee.  I hadn't shot a gun in nearly three years.  However, I was pleased to learn that m accuracy with these guns had not diminished.  I shot a Glock 9mm and a Ruger .45 along with some rifle that I can't remember the name of.  After two or three hours in the range, me and my dad went to Steak and Shake.  We started discussing some of the gunns we saw in the store/range.  One in particular, a Barret .50 Caliber sniper rifle.  That led to a conversation about one of my favorite movies, Shooter.  We went home and watched it.  Soon after it ended we went to my first Arena Football game.  "The Battle of the Buckeye State," as the Columbus Destroyers took on the Cleveland Gladiators.  Columbus lost by two 59-57.  That was the first two days of spring break.  I hope all of you are safe on your journies this week.

Peace and Love

The Greatest Game Ever Invented! No Lie.
01:51pm 11/03/2008

patrickshort
So roughly a year ago I found a game that made everyday of my life so much fun.  This game is called The Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon.  I am sure that many of you know the rules of the game.  If not the rules go as follows:  Someone names an actor/actress and the other people or person try to connect that actor or actress to Kevin Bacon through movies the two had been in connecting other actors along the way.  For example, someone might give you the challenge of connecting Julia Roberts to Kevin Bacon.  A possible solution for this problem is:  Julia Roberts was in Hook with Robin Williams who was in Flubber with Marcia Gay Harden who was in Rails and Ties with KEVIN BACON.  This game is great and we played it everyday in my physics class in highschool.  It even got so serious that 3 problems of this were bonus questions on a test.  I try to play this game everyday  and you all should do the same.

Overheard at UT

I was hanging out with some of the guys in the lobby of my dorm, and we come across this group on Facebook.  It is called Overheard at UT, and might possibly be the best group on Facebook.  The group focuses on what other people on campus hear when they are walking around or in class or in any other situation.  Its great, anyone that knows me, knows I like to eavesdrop on other people's conversations.  It is only because some people tend to scream in public and make fools of them selves and I like calling them out on it.  And If you don't like people listening to what you have to say, don't say it or say it very softly where only you and the person you are talking to can hear you.  Until then, I am free to listen in on whatever want.  :D

Britney Spears burst on to the pop music scene in 1999 with her smash hit "...Baby One More Time."  Since then she has been at the very top of the charts and the very bottom in a very personal way.  And honestly I really don't care.  I am writing this blog just to get some thoughts off my chest about this subject.  I hope you enjoy or disagree with me, but I could care less either way.

Let's just say that I am not, never have been, or never will be a fan of the dumbest person in showbiz.  And no, that is not my opinion, it is proven fact.  Just turn on any entertainment show or something like it and just watch and listen and be amazed about how right I am.

Britney Spears is usually a drunken whore when she is in public.  Three seperate occasions show this.  She is getting out of a car and whoops there is her vagina for the world to see.  This all happened between the time of her second child to her divorce from back-up dancer, now wannabe rap star, K-Fed or Kevin Federline.  Now I'm not too upset about this.  But showing off your little lady soon after having two kids,  come on where is your common sense.  But what really urked my nerve is what is actually going on when all this happened.  She had just got done clubbing.  First things first, she had just had a child and currently had a one year old back home.  WHAT THE HELL is she doing out at 3 or 4 in the morning when she has 2 children back at home.  And Lord knows that Kevin isn't taking care of them either.  That is absolutely ridiculous.  And she is complaining about not seeing her children.  As far as I am concerned she should be locked in a looney bin for the rest of her life.  Hell maybe then the media will just stop talking about her.

The media has completely taken this thing way too far.  I can't turn on the TV without hearing about what she has done wrong this time.  I DON'T CARE anymore!  LOL  Now I know what the writer's strike was about.  HAHA They were just as sick of the whole Britney thing as I am.  I am begging the broadcasting companies to stop showing her on the tube.  WHY?  Ratings?  No screw that.  I am sure that everyone else on the face of this Earth is just as sick of all this bullshit as I am.  I could care less what happens with her life anymore including if she ever gets to see her kids again.

B.S.  Britney Spears and Bull Shit   coincidence?  I think not.  I'm sick of this whore of woman, a shame to the HUMAN race.

As of recently I have had a series of awesome yet wierd dreams.  I have no clue what has caused these strange dreams, but all I know is that I enjoyed them after I woke up.  And just a side note, my dreams are somewhat like movies and are most always in the third person, however, they are known to change points of view in the middle of my dream.

Let me begin by saying that the first dream happened last semester and just may be in my two top favorite dreams of all time.  I mean I just had to tell everyone I saw about it.  The dream begins with me in an ampitheater with some friends and several people from the X-Men comic books and movies.  Just remember that this happened very long ago, and I cannot remember big details or exactly what happened.  So somehow we receive note that there has been a murder in a nearby town.  Everyone scampers out and  the next thing I know it shows me as a zombie running through the woods with my friends.  We then reach a small house in an open area of the woods.  We decide to enter it.  It happens to be some old ladies house that just so happened to know some information about the murder that had happened.  After we get done talking our little group of crime fighting zimbies breaks out into song.  Unfortunately I cannor recall the song but im pretty sure it was an 80s hair metal band's song or maybe ABBA's "Dancing Queen."

This next dream happened a couple of nights ago while I was drugged up on NyQuil when I was having sleeping problems, and might possibly be my favorite dreams to this date.  The dreams begins with a whole bunch of people I don't know in a small auditorium type room.  A few minutes later a fat white man busts into the room with what looked like some kind of automatic weapon.  His reign over the room did not last long.  Two brave men jumped on the man and forced him to the ground, and then I picked up his gun.  The scene changes and I am now in my house with my grandmother, my mom, and the man who had tried to hold people hostage at the other place.  I walk around screaming, "Where's the police?  No one called the fuckin' police?"  Sure enough no one had.  While I am yelling at the top of my lungs the man gets up and runs into another room, and I follow.  I get to the room, turn the corner, and all I see is two white flashes, and I hear, "Bang, Bang."  I had been shot. Twice.  Once in the arm and the other in the hand, with the bullet stuck inside it.  I fall to the floor and see my mom walk in with two sub-machine gun type guns.  She shoots him numerous times.  He dies.    :D    She rushes over to me and helps me up and mentions to me that we have to get me to a hospital.  We get to the car and my mother turns on the navigation device (which do not have, simply because we can follow directions and don't need a fucking robot telling us where to drive).  We begin driving and she turns into this apartment complex. "This isn't the hospital, MOM!" I yell.  She replies, "Well this is where it is supposed to be."  I get out of the car without saying a word after the fact.  I proceed to grab my mother and pull her out of the driver seat.  I get in and go.  I see a plane take off from a distance, and I think to myself, "Hmm, Airport equals first aid."  I was wrong.  I then drive to what seemed to be the place where I saw the plane take off.  I approach the place with caution.  I see two people out side with forklifts and plenty of boxes.  Stepping out of the car I ask, "Is there a hospital around here?"  They reply, "You're at it."  This place looked nothing like a hospital.  It had metal walls and roofs and was rusty and just plain gross.  As I turn to get back in the car I see Brett Favre of all people walking toward me with a football in his hand.  I look at him and say, "I have always wanted to catch a ball from you."  He tells me to go long and I do and catch the pass he threw.  I throw it back but my form is horrible being that I am in so much pain.  Brett looks to his right and says, "John come out here."  John Elway walks in from the shadows and gets the ball from Brett.  He throws it to me and I catch the ball again.  This time as I begin to throw it back on of the men that was outside earlier comes running at me and tackles me.  He stands above me and smiles.  This is when I realize that it is Michael Strahan.  The dream suddenly ends.

Sorry I could not put the dialogue and story in proper format.  I am kind of in a rush to get to bed.  My sleeping schedule is all fucked up.  Thanks for reading and please share your wildest dreams.

Recently a series of deadly storms struck my hometown of Jackson, causing massive damage and devastation.  Fortunately no one from my family was hurt.  However, that isn't the case for some families back home.  Many familes were left without, electricity or even a place to live.  Union University, a local private college, was almost ripped totally apart.  From what I understand, there was no building on the campus that dodged damage from this horrific act of nature, and 80% of dorms were unliveable.   Regional Hospital was also hit by the tornado, along with an Exxon, Arby's, and the Old Hickory Mall.  Fortunately, my favorite restaurant, T.J. Mulligans, was unscathed.  Many college student and other familes were left homeless due to the massive damage by the twister.  My prayers go out to the residents affected by this deadly storm and those who weren't affected who are now helping put all the pieces back together.

What a Weekend!

Let me begin by saying that my weekend started off absolutely horrible and ended terrific.   Fridays are usually awesome, being that I have no classes (don't ask how i managed that).  But this Friday was different.  I woke up feeling kinda sick.  I just didn't want to get out of bed, so I didn't until about 2:30 that afternoon.  About that time I began to feel a little better, and I got up, took a shower, and showered.  The rest of the day was spent in the D-Lounge of Melrose Hall chillaxin'  with some friends.  I begin to believe that I need a haircut, so I travel to North Carrick to a friends dorm to receive a free haircut.  Little did I know that I would have to do this myself.  I begin the cutting with a number 2 guard on.  I take it off because the shaver is getting kinda hot.  I turn around and begin talking to my friend, David.  We begin discussing the gameplay of the new videogame Burnout Paradise.  I proceed to turn the hair cutting device  back on and place it on my head.  At that moment, I realized that I made a big mistake.  Now my hair is as short as can be.  And it has been said that I now look like a serial killer.

Saturday, however, was pretty cool.  I woke up at around 11.  At 12 me and two friends went to the mall hoping to see 2 of 3 movies, Strange Wilderness, Rambo, and There Will Be Blood.  Unfortunately, the mall's movie theatre only had Strange Wilderness.  So we ended up seeing just that one.  It was pretty funny, and that is all I am going to say about that.  After the movie we make our way to the cigar store in the mall.  Being that I have been telling my friends that the next time I am in there I will buy something, I did (2 cigars and a cutter).   When we finished with the mall, we proceeded to walk to Taco Bell and wait for the next bus.  That took roughly 30 minutes or so.  We get back to North Carrick and begin to celebrate another one of our friend's birthday.  The "party" lasted for roughly 4 or 5 hours.  I danced, met a couple of new people, and had a damn good time.

So I wake up this morning knowing that today is the day the sporting event of all sporting events happen.  I am talking about the SUPERBOWL, one of my favorite things to watch.  My whole day is slow until about 4:30.  I return the D-Lounge and hang with some folks before the big game begins.  We sit there and watch the pre-game show and begin to talk about how awesome it would be for the Giants to pull through and knock the Patriots off of their throne.  Finally just as the Natinal Anthem is wrapping up, food arrives, and we all are happy to see that.  The superbowl begins.  The game goes on and the Giants win 17-14 on a game-winning catch by Plaxico Burress.  The three Patriot's fans in the room are speachless and leave rather quickly.  Unfortunately it was fast engough to where I didn't have time to laugh in their face.  And it serves the Patriots right that they lost, being that they are starting to be known as cheaters.  All I know is that one thing is for sure, Karma's a bitch.  And my night ended with this blog... Be Safe and Happy Blogging.

Superpowers

If you could have one superpower, what would it be?

That question has been the subject of several of my conversations with family, friends, and the occasional stranger.   I was listening to Dane Cook's stand-up, and he mentioned the powers of shooting a laser out of his "manhood" and being able to squirt spaghetti out of his fingertips.  Many people's answer to this question would be to have the power to fly.  I say "Nay!"  I would much rather have the ability to become invisible whenever I see fit.  That would include anytime I wanted to just get away from everyday life or even robbing a bank and other reasons I will not mention.

I recently was sitting in the lounge of my dorm hangin' and chillin' with several other of its residents, when this topic came about discussion.  We all had differing opinions including flying, invisibility, and x-ray vision.  After this conversation is in full swing, a regular to the lounge entered, and simultaneously we all ask him, "If you could have one superpower, what would it be?"  He pondered about this for about a minute.  Then he uttered the best answer to this question I personally have ever heard.

He replied with, "I would have the power to grant myself wishes."  This is by far, hands down the best and most unique answer to this ageless question.

It has been a pleasure.  See you soon.

Many of my blogs will focus on movies and music, two things that are very important in my life.  I hope each and everyone of you will enjoy my opinions and thoughts.  :)

So I am walking in Wal-Mart a couple of weeks ago, and I stumble upon this large cardboard box full of movies, everything from semi-old movies to Spanish comedies, that were only five dollars.  I didn't realize this at the time, but that discovery made my life easier and happier.   I had no clue that such great movies like American Beauty and Reservoir Dogs would even be in their.  I literally had a fit and bought other movies in the following weeks to come.  Movies like Desperado, Timeline, Wonderland, and Snatch.  It is amazing to me that movies that good could be sold so cheap.  It ought to be a crime!  I even plan on going back to this lovely place they call Wal-Mart and getting Blade and Tears of the Sun.  You all should go check this awesome box out, I am sure you all will thoroughly enjoy!
